Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Outdoors & Nature

There is an element of progressive education that values children’s experience and wonder of the natural world. Finding patterns, noticing inter-relationships, being curious about and caring for wildlife are ways learning from nature is fostered. As children grow, so does the need to create a sense of responsibility and stewardship for our environment. As students get older, they will explore issues of sustainability, scarcity, and ecological citizenship. A love for nature and concern for the planet are shared by all Spectrum staff, and sharing this love and concern is a goal of every teacher.
