Bio

I graduated from Clarke University in 1975, with a BA in Psychology and Elementary Education with my Reading certification. I began teaching K/1 at St. Francis Primary with Judy Bonne. That same year the school became Spectrum School, which was run by a board of parents and lay members of the community along with a coordinator, Judy Bonne. I was married to Gary Lind in 1979 and took a few years off to spend with our 2 children, Tom and Annie. I returned to Spectrum when my children were school age and could come with me and experience a Spectrum education.

Unfortunately, my husband passed away suddenly in 2008. I feel very lucky to have both my children and their families in Rockford, 5 minutes from me. Tom is married to Erin Lind and has 2 beautiful children, Will 5, and Henry 2. Tom is a landscape architect for the Rockford Park District. Erin teaches third grade in the Belvidere schools. Annie is married to Bryan Heidemann and they have a darling little 2 year old boy named Lucas Leo. Annie teaches fourth grade in the Belvidere schools as well. Bryan works for CoyleKiley insurance agency. Both Tom and Annie appreciate the wonderful education foundation they received from Spectrum.

I thoroughly enjoy being a grandma and working with my Early Elementary students. I love books and try my hardest to instill this feeling into the children I teach. I have worked with three year olds through 12 year olds during my long career at Spectrum. The love of children and the sense of family has kept me at Spectrum for many years.
