Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Pam Peterson

Undergraduate education

Bachelors in Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University

Graduate Work

Master in Fine Arts in Jewelry and Metal from Northern Illinois University

Watercolor, printmaking, book and paper-making, fiber arts and jewelry have been my favorite visual art interests.
I have a strong Arts-Integration background along with being a working studio artist in jewelry since 1999. From 2014-2018 I was a contracted Visiting Math-Arts IntegrationTeacher for the Rockford Public Schools. I was contracted by RPS205 to work in specific schools, certain grades, teaching art integration projects executing the vision of the Kennedy Center Math-Arts Integration definition. As a Teaching Artist, I designed, developed, and co-delivered math/art integrated lessons in classrooms with certified classroom teachers. I assisted in ensuring the Kennedy Center’s definition for Arts Integration was the conceptual framework for the projects, where the students demonstrated their understanding of the math and art concepts in the making of visual art.
