Bio

I have taught across a wide range of age levels, subjects, and classroom settings in public and private settings. I truly feel that the wide variety of experiences I've had have uniquely prepared me to be a Spectrum teacher. I am passionate about honoring student choice, facilitating creativity, and using children's natural curiosity and personal interests to create an engaging learning environment for each and every student. In my free time, I am certified yoga instructor and an artist. My passion for both translates into my classroom where I model mindfulness, breathing, and self regulation techniques throughout the day to help my students take ownership of their emotions and behaviors in positive ways. As an artist, I believe that creating is a fundamental human drive. I like to encourage deep observation and articulation of ideas through a creative medium to help students integrate their content learning in an authentic and meaningful way.
