On June 29, 2023, Spectrum was invited to join Rockford University to participate in a Business Summit. We heard business leaders from across the Rockford community. We learned that 10 years from now, students should be prepared to successfully navigate “career lattices” rather than climb career ladders. We also learned that “value-based” partnerships will be crucial across industries. Additionally, we learned that “sustainability” will be a key component on many levels – sustain the environment, sustain an ability to learn and act on our learning, sustain an ability to adapt and succeed with required skills for new technologies, and sustain an ability to work with others collaboratively.
Spectrum students already work across age levels, genders, personality types, and ability levels. We expose students to team projects, individual projects, and social skill development opportunities.
At Spectrum, we reconnect with nature, reconnect with people, reconnect with the old and the new, and we reconnect with our community. At Spectrum, we promote learning for life, learning by doing, and learning by participation. It doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you for supporting a School for the Future.
