On Tuesday, we celebrated a whole decade of Asher! Happy birthday Asher!
Music Composition!
We have learned to read the lines and spaces on a music staff by playing a bean bag game. Students transferred their knowledge to a smaller staff and are creating a 4 measure melody on xylophones, metalaphones, and glockenspiels. We are laying the foundation to a whole new music unit coming up soon. Intermediate parents, you received an email recently about what new music skills your child will be learning soon. Big reveal to students next week!
Intermediate Student Ambassadors explain a change-maker project, Empathy for Endangered Animals!
Geodes!
Daliyah was absent when we broke our geodes, so she was the last to break hers open! Miss Muscles broke hers quickly! Each student got to break open a geode and keep it.
A Blast in the Snow!
Snow what fun! Our Early and Intermediate students have such a blast in the snow that they’re sad when it’s time to go in! The snow is such magic that they rarely even get toys out.
The Tale of Desperaux!
First year IE students have been listening to The Tale of Desperaux by Kate DiCamillo over the last two weeks. We are learning new words, discussing complex themes, and now the students are creating art related to their favorite characters and scenes!
The "Why?"
Brainstorming and thinking about root causes and the “why” for our changemaker project: Empathy for Endangered Animals. They are tackling ignorance and apathy by making people aware and making people care.
