We are very excited about our summer camps. They will be open to children from other schools, so help us spread the word! Remember, there is a referral discount (used to be $200, now is $500!) if we get an enrollment from a new family on your recommendation. Spectrum is a unique school, and we need more kids!
At this week’s Board meeting, I was reminded that our alumni often are heard to say that Spectrum:
- Helped them develop confidence
- Encouraged them to ask questions
- Helped them think outside the box
- Supported imagination and creativity
- Understood who they were
- Supported them in finding their identity
- Gave them a sense of connection and belonging
Progressive Education honors the developmental pace of children, their interests and curiosity, and how they want to share their learning and knowledge. As I watched my granddaughter’s version of the Wonkey Donkey video on the school Facebook page this week I saw planning, creativity, execution of an idea, and most exciting for me was the reading embedded seamlessly into her enthusiastic performance. Thank you for letting her do that little project, Ms. Jacque and Ms. Shawnna.
That is what Spectrum is all about.
