Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Letter from the Principal: May 24, 2023

Dear Spectrum Family and Friends,

Ms. Jacque just echoed the sentiment many of us are feeling. The last day epitomizes the word bittersweet. We are tired and relieved and looking forward to some time in the summer to relax and be with our families, but we have all invested so much into the children that not seeing them every day feels a bit sad. We want them to remember the learning and the fun and the relationships shared. We want them to look back on this last year, and in some cases on their experiences at Spectrum, with a positive sense of connection and community. We want them to know they were loved and they were part of something truly special.

If I could have one wish for next year, it is for more connection, commitment, and shared responsibility for our school from our parent community. We want friendships and community for you, too. We want you to be part of maintaining, nurturing, and building this sweet little school – the only non-religious and uniquely “alternative” to traditional options in this area. We need parents to help take Spectrum into the future.

Congratulations to our graduates. We are proud of your growth and learning. It speaks volumes about you, your teachers, and our school that despite the fact that you graduated, you still came to school today.

Have a great summer everyone! Please look for future announcements regarding summer playdates for Preschool and Early, summer field study opportunities for Intermediate, family volunteer opportunities at school and in the community, Parent Meet and Greet evenings with movies for the kids, and any community events where Spectrum will be getting the word out about our wonderful little school.
