Dear Spectrum Family and Friends,
See SAVE THE DATES below. We are in the final countdown. Children have more energy than their bodies can contain. Teachers are trying valiantly to finish units, novels, projects. Grads are bouncing off the wall with anticipation and anxiety. I myself have my feet in three places- now, summer planning, and next year. There are always competing priorities for a school administrator, and this time of year always feels like a high speed train. Bear with us!
I hope you had a chance to show appreciation to the teachers and staff this week. Thank you to those who made a special effort.
Please save the dates:
- On May 21 (evening) The Board is sponsoring a “State of the School” event which will include accomplishments this year, opportunities for parent leadership and involvement next year, and parent and volunteer appreciation/recognition from me, the staff, and students. We are at 95% of parents giving back in some way as volunteers to the school this year.
- We also have tentative plans with the PTO for a school picnic the afternoon of May 24 after school on the school grounds.
- FYI During the last week of August we plan to host a Back to School Kick Off event (details will be provided).
For all the amazing women in your lives and mine, I wish you the happiest of Mothers’ Day.
