Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Letter from the Principal: Nov. 16, 2018

Dear Spectrum Parents,

We are very happy to report that the volunteer effort by our families is at 78%! This is a huge accomplishment! Your presence and support of the school makes a huge difference to the children, teachers, and staff. Keep up the great volunteering! There will be plenty of opportunities during our Holiday Market on December 7, set up and take down of our Holiday Luncheon on December 21, and two other ongoing opportunities: recess supervision and field trip driving.

At Tuesday night’s PTO meeting, we discussed the need for an updated Parent Directory. The PTO let go of Directory Spot because of expense and evidence of not that much use.

This is important. Rather than seeking permission and signature to include your contact information in the Parent Directory, I am seeking DECLINATIONS and/or REFUSALS only. I need these by November 27, so we can get a PDF of the directory into the November 28 family envelopes. If you do not indicate otherwise, your contact information will be included.

If you do not want to be included, simply send an email to [email protected] and write  DO NOT INCLUDE by November 27. You will still receive school e-Blasts and other school communications.

The Spectrum Directory will have an alpha-list by child last name which will include home address, parent emails, and parent phone numbers. It will also have class rosters organized by student first name. Finally, it will include a staff/teacher email directory, contact information for current Spectrum Board members, and contact information for our PTO executive team.

Let us all be respectful of each other’s contact information. The Spectrum Directory is to be used for school and community purposes only. If you are solicited in any way from directory information, please let me know. If you have a problem or concern with something in school, please connect with the relevant staff directly.

As always, we appreciate your support.

Dr. Mary Beth Cunat
