I was so excited about our first All School Share yesterday. For those new to Spectrum, All School Share is exactly what it sounds like: the whole school comes together and each level shares with everyone else what they have been doing in the last month. Yesterday,
- Preschool recited the poem, Hey Diddle Diddle, the Cat and the Fiddle
- Early shared their butterfly life cycle art and recited a butterfly life cycle poem
- Intermediate shared facts about water and the water cycle and danced a water cycle ballet
- Upper shared pirate jokes and talked about their various field studies regarding rivers and creeks they have visited
The benefit of our sweet little school is the connections, encouragement, and support that develops among students across all ages as they learn about each others’ learning. I just love it!
We also celebrated International Peace Day by singing Peace like a River, Love like an Ocean, Joy like a Fountain (my favorite peace song has water as its theme!) and sang Happy Birthday to students whose birthdays are in August and September.
