Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Middle School Memoirs: Oct.22 – Oct.26

Middle School was all about making a difference, both out in the community as well as in-house, this week!

Quick reminder! This Monday, October 29, is our field trip to Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch in Pingree Grove, IL. Drivers are still needed! Also, all students need to bring $12 for admission as well as a bagged lunch.

Now, your week in review!

Clarissa, Diana, Tess, and Khimera serve lunch to the homeless

This past Monday, these four young ladies served lunch to the homeless at Second First Church. They all got a chance to spend some time with those who are sometimes forgotten. As you can see, doing good in your community can give you ALL the feels: peace, love, and positivity! Proud of these young women!

Early morning fitness

Middle School led by example with Upper Elementary for some early morning sunshine, fitness, and “getting the wiggles out” as the kids like to say.

Environmental Rhetoric @ Rockford University

Quick picture of our class at Rockford University after our first environmental rhetoric course. We shared our personal projects and learned about some of theirs. Found inspiration in learning about how young people are engaging to make the world a better place!

Lilah's personal project progress

Exciting news for Lilah! She has secured mentorship with a woman who has a PhD in Microbiology (and is actually known as the “Crop Doc”). She has even offered to utilize Lilah on one of her very own upcoming projects. We are excited to see what unfolds as she starts to grow an authentic professional collaboration with a real scientist. So proud of Lilah for chasing her passion!

Be sure to check back next week for new entries in the Middle School Memoirs!
