Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Upper School Highlights! April 29 – May 3

Mini chocolate banana candy in Japanese class!

Upper School buddying up with Early Elementary!

What A Great Day!

We had a great day in Upper while grads were on their grad trip! We weeded the class garden and made wooden derby cars! Such a beautiful day!

Star Wars Week!

We explored the music of Star Wars using the parachute, rhythm sticks, scarves, and had a dance off to Cantina Band. We discussed and contrasted how the music was different as to tempo, instrumentation, major/minor. We also saw a short video about composer, John Williams.

ALUMNI ALERT!

It was wonderful having Spectrum graduate and Harlem High School Sophomore, Nolan come visit on Thursday! Nolan is the son of Miss Heather. As part of his education, Nolan job-shadowed and was my assistant throughout the day. I’ve known Nolan all through his Spectrum years and am so proud and pleased with the mature young man Nolan is becoming. Nolan was able to talk to Upper students about his positive experience at Harlem and gave helpful advice. Nolan and I had some valuable discussions as well. Thank you Nolan! Finish the school year strong!

Have a relaxing weekend!
